AMWell, let's cut right to it: Monday's opener was a whole lot of fun. Watching the game was fun. Making my way through the unexpectedly large crowd was fun. Just being at the ballpark was fun. Activities For 15 Month Old Twins Die On Same DayThe Twins even looked like they were having some fun. The Royals started out that way, but it didn't last.)There's not much new at Target Field, but lots of little things are worth noting. And the first is to note the tragic removal of the pulled pork sandwich from the State Fair concession stand. Did it move, or is it just gone? I couldn't find it anywhere, and it's the one thing I eat almost every time I go to a game. With the cheeseburger, I considered it the best value at Target Field. Oh, maybe that's the answer.. But speaking of food, the line for the mini donuts has officially gone insane. ![]() When I walked the outfield concourse during the late innings, the line stretched all the way out to gate 3. Now, the mini donuts are good, but they're certainly not good enough to justify waiting at least half an hour. That's crazy. (But I'm happy for the vendor - - an independent.)I didn't count, but I'd estimate at least 1. You can't buy a $1 scorecard anymore, and that's a bummer, if not exactly a surprise. Instead, there's a similar scorecard (without the team rosters) stapled into the middle of the Twins Magazine, which was being given out for free. So, the price is right. But I always just liked the whole concept of handing over a buck, and getting something so much better - - so tangible, practical, traditional, and perfectly suited to the occasion - - in return. In a very real way, it felt like an act of conjuring: the instant conversion of a meaningless and virtually useless piece of paper into one on which a story could be recorded, carefully and systematically, just for joy of it, and maybe the reliving and retelling later. Try doing that on a dollar bill (Wheres. Fred Weasley (1 April, 1978 – 2 May, 1998) was a pure-blood wizard, a son of Arthur Weasley and. They were INTO this moment when Sano batted with the bases loaded in the 7th (he took a walk and got an RBI). You know, I never read those Twins Magazines anymore. They are really unsuited to the occasion, and I can't stand the fluffy, unending, self- promotional hackery.Yes, some Twin went to a hospital.Yes, some Twin or another is looking to "get back to form" or "capitalize on last year's performance" and other such flotsam. I really don't care, and I find the writing to be exhaustingly, unflinchingly chipper (which I know isn't the fault of the writers, just part of their job). Honestly, I was more interested in the players when I knew less about them and they seldom got a chance to talk. Why would I care what a ballplayer has to say? Just make the plays! My favorite player profile of all time was a couple of terse paragraphs in a program from about 1. Blyleven's first name is really Rikalbert - - which turns out not to be exactly correct, but it was just the right kind of interesting. In the context of a baseball player, I'll take interesting over accurate any day. He was born Rik Aalbert Blijleven, 6. I'm guessing will get a mention or two on this afternoon's broadcast.)But I digress. Let's talk french fry lights. They were mostly on, although there were places where they gave off some heat without much light. I don't know if they are cycling them, or if maybe they've discovered another, power- saving setting. But there's no question that, on a coolish day, a whole lot of ballpark life is happening beneath the french fry lights. It's certainly a distinctive thing about Target Field (though I think they are now cropping up elsewhere). I feel about them much the way I do about skyways: They are necessary, a little strange, innovative, clever, somehow really wrong, but ultimately appreciated, and thus defining, in an unspecific way, of who we are up here. Oops. Again, I digress. The size of the crowd was a surprise to me. One usher told me that the game was sold out, but the announced attendance of 3. The seating bowl looked around 8. I absolutely did not expect as I headed down there. At one point before the game started, I encountered a huge bottleneck in the concourse behind the Homerun Porch bleachers. People were moving in from Gate 3, but were getting blocked by what turned out to be a hot dog cart pushed way too far out into the concourse: I assure you that not all those people were waiting for hot dogs - - which just aren't that good. I should admit that I just love ballpark scenes like that one. It's so visceral. So Opening Day. And I also must admit that I was stuck in this back- up for about five minutes before I decided to put my knowledge of the ballpark to good use. I made my way into the bleacher area, threaded quickly through a whole bunch of empty seating, and emerged upstream far enough to get on the ramp, then diagnose and document the clog. Know your ballpark, people! It's also worth noting that this probably wasn't a problem at all with only half as many people there for Wednesday's game. The lighting change was more significant that I expected. As you may know, the lighting in the canopy was changed out to LED bulbs, and with that came a change in light temperature (which I assume everyone now knows about because of the labeling on the LEDs you buy at Target). At one point, I was sure that the sun had broken through the cloudy blanket, but it turned out to just be the new field lighting. That's a pretty significant upgrade, especially since it comes with both a significant energy and maintenance savings. A real- life Minnie (aka Ned) and Paul. Those lights can also apparently pulse brighter if they want. It happened during the pregame, right before the Twins took the field. At first I thought I must be mistaken, but by the third pulse I was able to determine that it came from the canopy. It's a very cool effect, which must come with some limitations on its use. I hope they don't go crazy with that. There were also some colored LEDs under the canopy, but they were a little bit underwhelming. I'm guessing they will be very nice during night games. Lots of things were redesigned on scoreboards. I guess we're all sort of used to the idea that where we looked for information the last time we came to the ballpark might have changed. I had trouble finding the time, which I think is gone completely from the auxiliary ribbon boards, and all too often not displayed at the top of the Twins Tower. I also had trouble finding the "last play" info (also used for Twingo). Eventually, I found it above the out- of- town scoreboard in right center (though I didn't look on the main grandstand side). More troublesome was the new font that they are using. At one point I was sure that the last play was "S- 3" and thought it must be some new sort of scoring. A quick check on my phone told me it was actually "5- 3", as in, ground out to third. Similarly, when Mike Minor came in for the Royals, I wrote "8. I saw on the scoreboard above the bullpens. When he turned around, however, it was clearly "2. A small thing, but really worth fixing since so much information has to be easy to read at a glance. I don't really like having to drag my phone out to get info that should be easily readable on the scoreboards somewhere, but that sure is a First World complaint, isn't it?)There were fireworks as the Twins were introduced. A nice idea, which led to some very smokey pictures as the introductions continued. There were no fireworks during the National Anthem, presumably not to scare the eagles in attendance.Unfortunately, weather nixed the anticipated flyover during the SSB (very precisely noted on the day's schedule as "2: 5. The flyover that wasn't.Did I mention that it was fun? Everybody was in a great mood, even when it looked, in the early innings, like the Twins were about to pick up right where they left off at the end of last season. If you had told me in the third inning that the Twins would win the game handily, I would have wondered whether you'd been standing under the french fry lights too long.

Best car rental service I have ever had! Check in was smooth and the front desk guy even took off sf resident taxes off my bill as I'm a resident. When I picked up my car I was greeted by a representative with a smile and already had all my info and pointed out all the options I had to pick from. When I returned the car there was a gentleman in a nice suit waiting for me to greet me and before I got off the car he had scanned the car code and had all the info ready to go for me. Fox is quicker than this. They are very friendly and this was not the fault of the agents, but this was not a good experience. Update: When I returned the car, they asked me if I was totally happy with the rental. I told them what happened and the gave me a discount. Class act. The staff at this location is excellent. This is my second experience with Enterprise (First time at this location) and I was very pleased. I arrived at the airport for pickup around 6p. Tuesday and was being helped at the counter by 6: 0. The service lady was very friendly and told me exactly where to go to pick up my vehicle with no pressure at all to upgrade anything (besides simply explaining additional offers). I walked to the garage and was greeted by a man in a suit who was very friendly. We walked down a row of cars and I basically had free reign over what vehicle I wanted since I purchased the Premium package. I selected the exact vehicle I wanted and was in the car driving in about 1. Rental Car For Driving Test Nj Espanol NoticiasThe whole process was 1. The return was simple and I was done in 5 minutes. NOTE: For those who give negative comments on lost items, Enterprise does a great job at posting an excess amount of signs stating you get all of your belongings. Anything worth getting upset over is not something you should "mistakenly forget" and is 1. Last month, Aug 2. I booked the flight and rental for my family's month long trip. Unfortunately, when we arrived at 6am, a tall bald man stood at the counter denying me my reservation exclaiming "We do not rent to anyone without using a credit card". At the time I had already knew most car rental companies had changed this and I specifically spoke with someone from Enterprise that told me I would be able to use my debit card as long as I had the round trip flight information. Unfortunately this taller gentleman would not budge on his incorrect assertion and no other cashiers were around this early. My reservation was for around $1. I had to take a vehicle for the weekend for two hundred, then returned on Monday ONLY TO FIND THAT I COULD USE MY DEBIT CARD! I then rented a similar vehicle for the rest of the trip using my debit card and flight reservation. Not only was it inconvenient to get off a five hour flight (with two infants) and have to deal with the guy who was simply wrong. But driving back to SFO from Vallejo area to bring the vehicle back at around 6am, ONLY to find out that I could have used my debit card all along was infuriating. On top of all of this, the new rental ended up being just under $1. So I lost out on $2. Through Costco Travel I got a really great deal on a rental for the time I was in the bay area, so we flew into SFO and headed on over to Enterprise to pick it up! I was greeted right away; customer service was very friendly and helpful with whatever questions I had, after checking in at the main desk I was told what direction to go to pick up the car. Again I was greeted right away by Sami, she was extremely helpful, showed what cars I could pick from, went with a red Kia Soul (love that car!!). Sami asked me some normal renter questions, and didn't try to upsell me on anything (satellite radio, gps system or whatever other extras) she answered my questions and got me set up and on my way pretty quickly. Returning the car was easy peasy too, greeted right away, asked if I wanted the receipt, turned the kegs over and was on my way to catch my flight. Customer service was great, the car was great, and the trip was great! Thanks Enterprise! Horrible customer service.. Workers were very lazy. Made me walk all the way back to see if I can get my sunglasses that were left behind. On top of that they didn't give me a certain time frame. Just said it was going to take a "while". Never renting from this branch in San Francisco airport. Better off trying hertz or Alamo. Mixed experience overall at this location. Service was very good when at the Enterprise front desk. Even though I decided to use a self serve kiosk, a lady at the desk walked over to me to assist me with picking up my vehicle. Great service was implemented there. She made sure everything was squared away and gave me the proper instructions on where the Enterprise car rental pick up area was. The problem I had was when I got to the car pick up area. At first the service was good. There was a guy in a suit that was able to assist to retrieve our vehicle. That good service started going away when I started to feel like I was being helped by a sales person. I get that he probably makes extra money for upgrading us but I think there are better ways to do it. We reserved a Sporty vehicle which was the Dodge Challenger. As we were walking around the lot full of rental cars, he began offering and showing us some upgrade options. These options were ranging from convertible Chevy Cameros, to Audi's and even convertible BMW's. These were about $1. He got us to think about it, but we decided to go for the Challenger since we didn't feel like spending extra money. After I declined his offer, it seemed that the Challenger we were waiting on was "lost". He said "we should have one somewhere". We walked down to help him find the car where he was still trying to offer the upgraded vehicles. He was trying to convince us the car was probably rented out and even asked another worker "Is the last Challenger here? It's probably still rented out." I guess his plan didn't work since the other worker said it should be here and then decided to help look. He then started to offer us the upgraded cars again trying to test our patience hoping we'd budge in and just pay extra to upgrade. He even offered to lower the upgrade price down to $8. I then became firm with my decision and told him I'll wait for the Challenger. What upset me was the fact that he was trying so hard to upsell us on a better car and trying to convince us and have us walking around in hopes to have us give up and just go for the upgraded vehicle. What would've been nice is if he gave us a complimentary upgrade instead of having us walk around trying to find our car and hoping his other colleague would help lie as well. But that didn't happen. Not sure if this is mainly done in the SFO location but I've had better experience at the Enterprise in the Las Vegas Airport location. At the LV location, they apologized to us because we had to wait for the vehicle since it was being washed and as we waited, they went ahead and upgraded us to a better vehicle. Now that's the service that I was expecting at SFO but they fell short on that. Just be careful as they didn't notify us that we needed a credit card for a one way destination out of the airport. So now we are stuck on the airport forced to use another renting car company. Superior customer service. Picking and returning the car is quick with no delays. Worth every penny spent. Thanks a lot for making my sfo trip more memorable. Isaac and Josh at SFO Enterprise Car Rental provided my husband and me superior customer service during our trip to SF for our anniversary! Isaac was very friendly, and upon learning that it was our anniversary, helped us to get into a nicer rental. He then took the time to provide us with recommendations for food and parking around SF. Josh also helped us upgrade our package upon picking the rental up. Even though it was time for Josh to clock off, he stayed behind to make sure that we had everything we needed. Highly recommend these two! I'm having some car issues lately so I've been frequently renting from the Enterprise on First St. Livermore. Truly some of the best customer service I've ever experienced from everyone there that I've had the pleasure of being helped by. Express Helpline- Get answer of your question fast from real experts. The rules of golf in brief. INTRODUCTIONGolf is a game in which a ball is struck with a club from a prepared area, known as the "teeing ground", across fairway and rough to a second prepared area, which has a hole in it, known as the "putting green". The object of the game is to complete what is known as a hole by playing a ball from the teeing ground into the hole on the putting green in the fewest possible number of strokes. A "round of golf' consists of playing 1. There are basically two forms of play, one which is decided by holes won and lost (match play) and the other which is decided by the total number of strokes taken to complete the round (stroke play). There are three important principles to remember when playing golf: Play the course as you find it. ![]() Play the Ball as it lies. And if you can't do either, do what's fair." To do what's fair you need to know the Rules. The following is a summary of the Rules of Golf, simplified where possible. ETIQUETTE Etiquette covers both Courtesy and Priority on the Course as well as Care of the Course. Whilst the following points are not Rules as such they are an important part of the game. Don't move, talk or stand close to a player making a stroke. Don't play until the group in front is out of the way. Get crowd opinion! [Golf with Aimee. Don't step on the line of another player's putt. Don't drop clubs on the putting green. Replace the flagstick carefully. DEFINITIONSThe Definitions section of the Rules of Golf contains over forty Definitions which form the foundation around which the Rules of play are written. A good knowledge of the defined terms will help in the correct application of the Rules. These include: Teeing Ground - the starting place for the hole, defined by two tee- markers. Through the Green - the whole area of the golf course except the teeing ground and putting green of the hole being played and all hazards. Hazards - any bunker or water hazard. Putting Green - an area specially prepared for putting and containing a 4. Out of Bounds - ground on which play is prohibited i. A ball is out of bounds when all of it lies out of bounds. Loose Impediments - natural objects such as stones, leaves and twigs provided they are not fixed or growing, are not solidly embedded and are not sticking to the ball. Obstructions - any man- made object, except: (1) objects defining out of bounds (2) any part of an immovable man- made object which is out of bounds; and (3) any construction declared by the Committee in the Local Rules to be an integral part of the course. Casual Water - any temporary accumulation of water on the course which is visible before or after the player takes his stance (dew and frost are not casual water). Ground Under Repair - any portion of the course so marked by the Committee. Also includes material piled for removal and a hole made by a greenkeeper, even if not so marked. THE RULES OF PLAYGENERAL POINTSBefore commencing your round: (1) Read the Local Rules on the score card. Put an identification mark on your ball. Many golfers play the same brand of ball and if you can't identify your ball, it's lost. Count your clubs. You are allowed a maximum of 1. During the round, don't ask for "advice" from anyone except your partner or caddie. Don't give advice to anyone except your partner. During a hole you may not play a practice stroke. TEEING OFF Tee off between and not in front of the tee- markers. You may tee off up to two club- lengths behind the front line of the tee- markers.Teeing off outside this area - in match play there is no penalty but your opponent may ask you to replay your stroke; in stroke play you incur a two- stroke penalty and must then play from within the proper area.PLAYING THE BALLPlay the ball as it lies.Don't improve your lie, the area of your intended swing or your line of play by moving, bending or breaking anything fixed or growing except in fairly taking your stance or making your swing. Don't press anything down or build a stance. If your ball lies in a bunker or a water hazard don't touch the ground in the bunker, or the ground or water in the water hazard, before your downswing. The ball must be fairly struck, not pushed or spooned.Playing a wrong ball (except in a hazard) - in match play you lose the hole; in stroke play you incur a two- stroke penalty and you must then play the correct ball.ON THE PUTTING GREENYou may repair ball marks and old hole plugs on the line of your putt but not any other damage, including spike marks. You may mark, lift and clean your ball on the putting gre·en. Always replace it on the exact spot. Don't test the putting surface by scraping it or rolling a ball over it. Ball played from putting green strikes flagstick - in match play you lose the hole; in stroke play you incur a two- stroke penalty. BALL IN MOTION DEFLECTED OR STOPPEDBall struck by you is deflected or stopped by you, your partner or your caddie - you incur a one- stroke penalty and the ball is played as it lies. Ball struck by you is deflected or stopped by someone else - play your ball as it lies wihout penalty, except (a) in match play, if an opponent or his caddie deflects the ball you have an option to replay the stroke or (b) in stroke play, if the ball is deflected after a stroke from on the putting green, you must replay it. Ball struck by you is deflected or stopped by another ball at rest- in matchplay, no penalty and the ball is played as it lies except. In stroke play you incur a two- stroke penalty if your ball and the other ball were on the putting green before you played. LIFTING, DROPPING AND PLACING THE BALLIf a lifted ball is to be replaced, its position must be marked. If a ball is to be dropped or placed in any other position (e. GUR, etc.) it is recommended that the ball's original position be marked. When dropping, stand erect, hold the ball at shoulder height and arm's length and drop it. If a dropped ball strikes you or your partner, caddie or equipment it must be re- dropped without penalty. There are eight instances where a dropped ball rolls to such a position that it must be re- dropped - see Rules of Golf Rule 2. BALL INTERFERING WITH OR ASSISTING PLAYYou may lift your ball if it might assist any other player. You may have any ball lifted if it might interfere with your play or assist any other player. LOOSE IMPEDIMENTSYou may move a loose impediment unless it and your ball are in a hazard. However, if you have touched a loose impediment within one club- length of your ball and your ball moves, the ball must be replaced and (unless your ball was on the putting green) you incur a penalty stroke. But unlike 3. 5mm headphones, which can be used with an i. Phone 7 via the Apple- made dongle, there’s no way to do the reverse and get Lightning headphones to work with anything that doesn’t have a Lightning port, making my colleague’s new Mac. Book Pro, with its four high- speed, reversible USB- C ports and single 3. We hate to break it to you, but the traditional USB ports you’ve used to connect your cameras,…Read more A dongle does exist to plug Lightning port headphones into a USB- C port, and we tried one, but it still didn’t fix the problem. Lightning- to- USB- C adapters only work when charging or transferring data. Which means no audio support, which means no Ear. Pod- powered desk concerts in your open- plan office. Apple Is Comfortable With User- Hostile Tech. Apple’s Lightning connector is convenient for Apple, but not so much for the rest of us. It’s only available on Apple’s i. OS devices, making switching to, say, an Android device an inconvenient and pricey decision—you’ll need new cables, headphones, docks etc. To play nice with others, Apple should have either left the 3. Phone, or switched to USB- C, which is what every other cell phone manufacturer is doing. And while their move towards incompatibility with other company’s devices isn’t surprising, it does seem a little weird that they’d build this kind of glaring incompatibility into their two most recent devices—the i. Phone 7 and the latest Mac. Book pro. The decision to exclude the Lightning port from its Macs—and not to publicly address the compatibility issues —also runs counter to its history of transition tools. During the company’s switch from Power. PC to Intel processors, it released the Rosetta translator software to keep Power. PC apps running on Intel- powered Macs. When the Mac. Book Air debuted without an optical drive, the company’s external Super. Drive optical drive eased the transition. My theory? The removal of the headphone jack and inclusion of Lightning Ear. Pods is simply a stop- gap to the company’s true goal of forcing you to go wireless and buy Air. Pods or Beats Bluetooth headphones. Considering the options, going wireless might be the answer, though I’d rather get some headphones that, you know, sound good. Kube. Weekly – Kube.
